Trip to thailand
Chris Zhang Google NYC
For 3 weeks, Chris and I hung out in the beautiful country of Thailand! We loved the daily routine of it all. In Bangkok, Chris trained for Muay Thai, a sport we eventually shared together. As a small woman, I found it intimidating. But watching people from all over the world train, gave me much fomo. We eventually started sessions together back in New York. Thank you chris, for the gloves and shin guards!
When we when to Krabi + Phi Phi Island, I was admittedly not thrilled with the heat. Jeesh! But like anything, together we work through tough things. For me, being overheated is one of the worst feelings. Especially since we had to walk (only 10 min) into town, but the humidity, heat, and beating sun made me so uncomfortable.
But after all the heat exhaustion faded away, and thanks to Chris’ kind and understanding approach to making sure I was also comfortable, the trip continued with a positive spirit.
We went on a boat tour, took many pics (perk of a photographer girl), and I chatted with some UK people as the sunset.
Some key moments from the trip.
Do you remember the really healthy place we found in a random shopping complex, after coming home from the Muay Thai gym? It was such a gem. We had been craving a big bowl of American salad. This place was actually so amazing.
What about the owner of the restaurant on Phi Phi island? He was some American who married a Thai girl. Came up to us and asked if you were a famous basketball player in china and referred to me as part of the reason? We laughed. He had made a bet. Nope, just a normal guy. and girl.
The tide would pull up so close to the shore. One night we went up to a little tree house hut cafe and walked home on the beach at night, It was windy that day.
The water was blue, and we spent a lot of time pretending we were in white lotus.
From the night market by our airbnb, the hot halls back to the place with no AC, but no problem.
the smoggy sunset view. The malls we made home. Exploring this place was quite new and exciting.
No matter what changes in life, these memories are foundational and wonderful.
